Thanks for visiting my site, I’m glad you’re here. I wanted to quickly share a few tidbits about myself and if you’re thinking, “I don’t really care to learn more about you Shivani,” then feel free to visit another part of my site instead (my feelings won’t be hurt, I promise!). Overall, I’m not the most exciting person in the world, but I am a bit funny, kooky, honest, artsy, and kind.
Firstly, I’m an avid traveler and have visited some amazing places so far, spanning from India, Switzerland, Italy, France, Greece, and Germany. I hope to visit Positano, Italy as my next adventure. I’m a huge foodie and love trying foods from different cultures and places.
I am also the first generation out of my family to have been born and raised in America, but all generations before me grew up in Rajasthan, India. My Indian culture means the world to me, but I’ve only been to India three times so far.
I’m also very passionate about caring for animals and I like to volunteer at my local animal shelters. I’m vegetarian and obsessed with pasta. I could probably eat pasta everyday if it was considered healthy. I love the color indigo and use it in my home frequently (since blues calm me and yes, there is psychology behind color, do the research, find out what color works for you, and you’ll be glad you did). I am also an avid painter and my favorite artist is Monet. Like him, I owe having become a painter to nature as well.
“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers.” -Claude Monet
I’m a hybrid between a creative hippie and awkward geek.
I am trying to get on social media eventually, but for now just like to focus on my writing projects and masters program. I’m a bit of a shy person that way. I’m also in the midst of writing my first book, meditating and doing yoga consistently, and pursing my MA in Communications from Johns Hopkins. Before that, I was actually considering medical school, but now, thank my lucky stars everyday that I made the decision to withdraw my acceptance. I am still grateful for my education and degree in Neuroscience, but just knew in my gut that having a career in the science/medical realm wasn’t the right path for me. Now, I want to spend my time focused on my writing and communicating aspirations, helping others get organized, and sharing my passions and tips in interior decorating.
